About

How special are weddings?  Getting married to the love of your life has to be one of the most treasured moments in your life.  My first wedding shoot was my sister’s on the Sunshine Coast back in 2009.

Nervous – Definitely … Excited – Absolutely … Most of all thrilled to be asked to photograph their special day. The day was perfect, the setting magical and everyone was happy and smiling – especially the bride and groom.

I’ll never forget the feeling of achievement and satisfaction I felt in capturing the tears, the laughter, the shy smiles and most of all the LOVE that resonated from every corner of the resort. Let your wedding day tell a story, with precious memories to last a lifetime.

It’s got to be one of the most enjoyable and satisfying jobs in the world – being a wedding photographer that is!  Right from the excitement of engagement day, capturing the special moments as parents are told, the ring is admired, the celebrations are planned.

Then it’s the wedding day – all the months of preparation coming to fruition, and that moment when the beautiful bride joins her loved one … and their lives are changed forever.

When it comes to photography and me personally, I’ve always been fascinated by how the image is formed, how light can depict the feel or mood of a photo and how using different methodically to create unique and powerful images.

When it comes to photography and me personally, I’ve always been fascinated by how the image is formed, how light can depict the feel or mood of a photo and how using different methodically to create unique and powerful images.

I’d never consider myself to solely be a “natural light photographer”, while the majority of my photographs are done in natural light, with very little or no flash required, I’ll never hesitate to pull out the strobe lights or off camera flash to achieve the look I’m chasing.

The way I look at it with photography, especially weddings, it’s a large investment and I want my customers photos to shine and be different from any standard run of the mill photography sometimes seen.   Planning is a big key to it, I learnt early on to plan each wedding individually, arrange a timeline with couples, assess daylight hours and where the sun will be shining for all parts of the day for best results.

What is very important to me, is not to make every wedding I shoot exactly the same.  I plan each wedding with different ideas in mind, visit venues before your wedding and consult with you to establish if there’s anything you value in your photography, offer my ideas and make sure we’re both on the same page.

At the end of the day you’re wanting me to take care of it, enjoy your day, get some fantastic memories and that’s exactly what I aim to achieve.

After 9 years of doing this I still get excited the day after a wedding looking at the photos…
